This is just one truth, because there are hundreds of times as many truths, who knows how many times as many. There are as many truths as there are people. Both living and dead.
With these words, the great Petre M. Andreevski opens the story of Nebeska Timyanovna to us, leaving her to tell it herself. And how can one tell an entire life – difficult and intertwined with the suffering of one’s own people? Are there words that can describe what the eyes see, what the heart suffers? And how strong does a person have to be to withstand life’s trials: the shooting of a disobedient father, the love turmoil that must be hidden from others, the hellish battles in the mountains, the baby that must be abandoned, the accusations of yesterday’s comrades, the suffering in the camps for the ideals for which one’s whole life has been sacrificed?…
And again, to find the strength to overcome everything and in the end, to tell everything – so that it remains remembered, so that it is not forgotten.
