Хотел Вартбург

Zoran Žmirić, through short, almost cinematic sequences with dialogues and with a grandmaster symmetry of the spoken and the unspoken, the bitterness and tenderness, the memory and the oblivion, takes us through the life of a seemingly (un)ordinary family, and in a Wartburg car. “A whole life is in that car.” The Wartburg also becomes a space for a showdown with the father, who is much more responsible in the role of the owner of the Wartburg than in the role of a parent. Or, maybe it only seems that way, “simply because he didn’t know any better”?
