The core of the City Library "Braka Miladinovci" consists of a representative collection of old and rare books, but also a significant collection of paintings, watercolors and drawings from North Macedonian contemporary fine art, which are unique in their value. Through this collection, the audience has a rare opportunity to get acquainted with several valuable masterpieces of North Macedonian Modernism, including works by three of the North Macedonian doyen seven, Dimitar Avramovski Pandilov, Vangel Kodzoman and Tomo Vladimirski. Dimitar Pandilov, the first North Macedonian impressionist, with whose exhibition in 1926, chronologically, modern art in North Macedonia begins. Vangel Kodzoman inspired by his native Struga, with a singing lyricism and Cezanne-like analyticality in his paintings. Tomo Vladimirski, a landscape painter, painted the natural beauties of North Macedonia, initially with elements of realism, later passing through the phase of impressionism and remaining on lyrical expressionism. A constellation of prominent artists, who left their mark on North Macedonian Modernism, complement this collection, owned by the City Library. The wealth of the City Library, shown through the collection of artistic paintings, represents a precious part of the testimony to the history of North Macedonian culture, to the creative endeavors and achievements of the doyens of North Macedonian Modernism, their followers and the new generations of artists.
